Northern Clay Center contacted us with the need to remodel all of their bathrooms, their exhibit halls, and main entrance for all of the community artists and students.
The budget was tight, and the schedule was tighter. All the work was completed around the very busy schedule that NCC has for both community outreach, and highlighting local artists in their exhibit halls. SCC worked closely with the NCC team to map out an intricate schedule that allowed the work to be completed around the current schedule NCC already had in place. We strategically did this project in phases to create a seamless and low impact remodel in high traffic areas.
Bathrooms
SCC gave all the bathrooms a new look by adding all new facilities, stall surrounds, counter tops, faucets, and unique flooring. All was completed with a style and design that matches the culture of NCC. There is nothing more challenging than remodeling every bathroom in a building without disruption to staff and artists, but SCC was able to accomplish this with our attention to details and planning.
Exhibit Halls
Our team of craftsmen repaired all the walls and floors of the exhibit halls that had been damaged over time from the heavy use they received from displaying local artists’ work. Drywall and concrete repair are very messy jobs that we were able to complete without destroying the building with dust. SCC uses poly walls, Hepa filtered equipment along with Hepa filtered air scrubbers to protect against the migration of dust throughout the course of our projects.
Back Entrance
SCC was able to freshen up and give new life to this main thoroughfare at NCC. SCC added custom milled stainless steel wall panels that were designed for both style and protection. The floors were replaced with new tiles that incorporated the NCC Rainbow from their brand. SCC also had the privilege to help NCC continue their stewardship of the environment by upgrading their drinking fountain with a newer energy efficient model that has a bottle filling option. The bottle filling feature was important for NCC’s staff as an environmental concern. Their desire was to do their part in reducing the amount of waste through disposable water bottles. Now staff and artists are able to use their own water bottles and refill them throughout the day, protecting the earth one bottle at a time.
